Association History

You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every association of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today and continuing the Kappa tradition beyond college.

The Greater Hartford Alumnae Association was founded on November 26, 1934, named "Connecticut" Alumnae Association. On April 26, 1948 the association was renamed to "Hartford" Alumnae Association. On August 11, 1989 the association merged with Eastern Connecticut and was renamed, "Greater Hartford" Alumnae Association, our current name. We are 80 years old and growing strong!
